Hawkszone Player Files
Hawkszone Player Files are a quick take on each on each player's current status and outlook.  Since General Manager Billy Knight likes to change his staff as frequently as the local McDonalds, this page may be out of date from time to time.

BORIS DIAW
COMMENTS: The Hawks first draft pick of last summer has been called a sleeper by many NBA critics.  The tall and lanky forward has the ability to play all 3 perimeter positions and is an excellent ball handler.  Stotts has chosen to use Boris primarily as a small forward, but as his game develops he may see more action at point guard.  Boris Diaw has a nasty habit of turning down open opportunities and needs to become more aggressive on offense.

CHRIS CRAWFORD
COMMENTS:  Only true Hawks fans shuddered when Crawford tore his ACL only weeks into last season.   Although unheralded,  Crawford's contributions as an inside and outside scorer cannot be underestimated.  Despite his tendency to force the issue, Crawford was an essential element to the Hawk's having a chance to make the playoffs last season.  Crawford has returned for this season, but Terry Stotts has chosen to keep him on the bench.  The reasons for this are not clear.
